From a tree's perspectiveA Poem by Deborah Leah KrempaMy roots are firmly planted deep into the earth My trunk stands tall unwavering to the winds Withstanding the oncoming storms My branches reach out toward the heavens My leaves cover me in the early spring Falling in an array of different hues come autumn My reproduction of buds blossoms and seeds I give life to replicas of me I stand in the forest green I line the woods with spectacular heights I bend during hurricanes I nourish and feed many with the fruit that I bere I give shade on hot summer day In winter I stand naked and bare I stand in awe of my creater I lean toward the sun I represent life and the color green I am refreshed in the awesome rains I give oxegen to the inhabitants of earth I stand tall in the rainforests On the oasis of the desert sands I stand I am a giant in the Redwood forest Tall as a sequoia, small as a bonsai Life on earth would not survive without me I am many different types of wood I shelter many a human being I have become pencils and books I provide a source of knowlege to pass down Throughout the generations of mankind I am an endangered species I am a tree © 2008 Deborah Leah KrempaReviews
