Granny Squares and Remnants

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

G ranny squares &

R emnants

A lovely quilt these rags have become

N ot a stitch out of place

N ot a square out of line

I  sew into the late hours of the night

E mbroidering memories onto fabric so divine

S ilver needles and golden threads

Q uilting a blanket so toasty and warm

U sing old clothing and ric rac

A craftswoman I have become

R emnants & granny squares

E mbroidery floss in vibrant hues

S uch a lovely quilt I have sewn for you

This brought back wonderful memories for me. Thank you. My nana was a granny-square crocheting machine!

Very well done!
