Gone Fishing

Gone Fishing

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

G randpa loved fishing

O utdoors was his favorite place to be

N etting a fish or two or three

E very chance he got he's reach for his rod and reel

F ishing on down the river bank he would go

I  loved to accompany him when I was a kid

S limy worms and minnows for bait

H e and I would fish for hours until it got late

I  caught me a blue channel cat with an old bamboo pole

N ow that was a catch to be sure don't you know

G ood ole grandpa and me

Acrostics. Now I know the name. I could just see you and your grandpa. I liked this one. Rain..

Honestly acrostics don't really do it for me. But I did love the warmth of memory in this piece. I used to go fishing with my dad and treasure those times. Night-fishing was my favourite... see, you've made me wander down memory lane too! Nice!

Loved the way you set this up! Very impressive. Must've taken you awhile to conjure. Awesome work ^^

This was GREAT! these type of poems are hard to write, you do them well. I lost my dad on Fathers Day 2001. Most of my favorite times growing up, were our fishing trips. Brings back memories.
