Poetic Justice!

Poetic Justice!

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa
"

don't drink and drive

"

P oetic words written... Signed Sealed and Delivered

O verflowing with the tears of a mother's love

E lectritrifying words pouring forth from her broken heart

T he final impact statement ready to read in a court of law

I  plead with the Judge for poetic justice to be done

C onsentrating on the issue at hand...my knees shaking as I stand

J ustice is what I seek this day for the reckless killing of my only son

U nder the influence of alcohol and cocaine a drunk driver did slay him

S o carelessly as he decided to place that key into the ignition of his car

T hinking irrationally and not caring enough to take a cab home

I  stand here before you with empty arms and shattered dreams

C an you look into my eyes and see what this has done to me

E veryday I wake up I hear my young man's screams...

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Regarding the poem, great work. Very emotional.

Wonderfully written acrostic, but oh so tragic and sad.

And Sharon is right, it IS a step in the right direction, we must keep getting that message out there, it is happening too often and to so many innocent families.... their lives shattered and in ruins in a split second by these uncaring creatures who don't give a damn except their own selfish desires. I am so sad to read this, my heart cries for you.

Blessings and Love

Such a sad tragedy certainly deserves justice, and your acrostic poem is a step in that direction. Well penned, Sharon
