Damn!A Poem by Deborah Leah KrempaI hate when this happensAs I sit here in the silence of my lonely room My thoughts drift off to another place and time I close my eyes and take a deep breath then sigh I hear sirens in the distance of this awful city As a car drives by screeching his tires The neighbor's dog is howling My doors are locked It's 2 am
Everyone in the house is asleep but me I can't keep from worrying Too much anxiety Too much stress Too many regrets
Computer screen at my fingertips The clock is ticking away slowly upon the wall As the kitchen faucet drips So I put on another pot of coffee Another night of fighting sleep My doors are locked It's 3 am
Computer screen at my fingertips Staring at a blank screen Is quite frightening Trying to overcome writer's block As the clock on the wall goes tick tick tock My doors are locked It's 4 am
Damn!
