Lonely tonight...

Lonely tonight...

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

May the angels look down upon my family tonight.

Help us get through the first year anniversay,

of my dear son's passing.

This is the night one year ago today.

I am at a loss for words but I feel I must write.

This is about the same time that he died.

It's a strange feeling,

Sadness fills my household

and our hearts are broken still.

There is an emptiness that fills the rooms.

A silence I cannot explain,

 too much heartache and pain.

We are so lonely tonight.

So damn lonely...

Dedicated to Robert S. Krempa 7/31/73 - 4/15/07

Author's note:  My son was killed in a head on collision caused by a drunk driver

I just hope my writings about the event will help someone to stop and think before

they get behind the wheel and to not drink and drive, help keep other safe and alive.

Dear Debileah.. I know the wrenching heartache this brings and although others mean well, they just can't say anything that will make it better. My sister was killed in a head on collision by a drunk driver also so I have some idea of what you are going through, although I do not know the pain of losing a child. Writing your feelings down helps you to release them as you know...so keep doing that. Memories are beautiful and keep our loved ones who have passed with us always. Maybe you can write about some of them when you feel up to it and share some of your son's life with us. I would love to read about him :)

Debileah, I've had the honor of reading this beautiful heartfelt dedication to your precious son before.
I'm glad you submitted this to my "Loneliness" contest.

"A silence I cannot explain,

So damn lonely..."

That says it all.....the futility of this tragic event is summed up in those few words, but the memories remain a live time. May the bad memories gradually be placed by the lovely ones that you and your Son shared.

People PLEASE think before you get into a car intoxicated and I truly doubt that anyone after reading about sad and futile event in your life Debileah, would even attempt to.

God Bless you and all your family. My heart goes out to you.

Hug ~Helena

Debileah, I am so sorry for your loss. Sending you warm, comforting hugs, my friend.

very sad and it is horrible the irresponsability of people driving and drinking... in here, every weekend, have young people dying just because of drinking and driving...
A hug from this side of the world (it is not much, but it is send with tenderness...)
