The door to my heart

The door to my heart

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

there you stood at my door

i should have closed it

like i did once before

but in you came

back into my life

and you stayed

for many years

causing me grief

and I

shedding tears

i should have kept

that door closed

but i let you in

it was my heart

that i let you win

and you tore it apart

all over again

i should

have known better

but i

was naive

the door to my house

opened the door to my heart

until death did we part

This is a poem filled with beauty in its deep sadness. It flows easily, and gains continuously in tragic.
It produces many images and thoughts.

Good job!
