April's sorrowA Poem by Deborah Leah KrempaDown on my knees, that's where you'll find me tonight On my knees in prayer, tears streaming down my face With empty arms reaching out unto the heaven's above Needing answers to questions I dare not ask of the lord
On my knees in prayer, tears streaming down my face Needing answers to questions I dare not ask of the lord
My son is dead and I'll never forget the day he died You know? It's like a sword pierced through my heart
Knots in my stomach that won't go away Needles and pins for nerves that are always tense Everything happens for a reason they say Explain to me the reason for this, lord Some beautiful spring day he was killed by a drunk driver
It was April of last year Needless to say
Praying doesn't come as easy as it should Remembering the bad outweighing the good Arms left empty still reaching out to the heaven's above Yearning for God's love Ever and ever, amen Remembering my sorrow early in the spring, all over again... © 2008 Deborah Leah KrempaFeatured Review
