To walk in your shoes

To walk in your shoes

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

To walk in your shoes!

A Story by debileah
"
(a book I hope to write)
"

If I could afford to travel the world,

I would surely follow in your footsteps.

My journey would take me far away from home.

Many people I would meet along my way.

For everyone has a story to tell.

I hope one day to tell yours.

For now, I can only speak,

of what I remember of you.

So there is a task in front of me,

I need to complete.

I can tell my side of the story of your life.

From my point of view.

I want more than just that.

I want the world to remember you.

For the thirty-three short years that you lived.

So how would I set out to accomplish this?

I would write across the sky if I could.

But I seem to write poetry instead.

I can tell of your childhood what I remember.

I can tell of the things that I know about you.

But how do I walk in your shoes?

If only I could afford to travel the world.

I'd go to the places you've been.

I'd talk to your friends.

I'd talk to the strangers that I'd meet.

And, I'd write it all down in a book.

A tribute to you, my darling son.

After all hero's become legends in due time.

Dedicated to Xavier.

Your muse will pave the way for you whether this write will eventuate into a book, or if poetry
is the way to tell your story. It doesn't matter, its only important to get the thoughts and
poems down, it will go the way its meant to.

Thanks Deb for another beautiful write! ~ Helena ~

I sometimes feel this way about mt dear departed sister..It never seems like there has been time enough or words enough to have been written, said or expressed to a love one that we no longer can talk to..I prayed everytime I saw a red cardinal for my sisters recovery from cancer..now when I see one at the feeder I say hello to her..Might sound wierd to some folks but I know that she understands how much I still love and miss her..God bless you..Valentine
