My untimely demiseA Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa
I could slip on a banana and fall to the floor. Receive a concussion and knock on death's door!
I could take flight on an airplane ride. With my kind of luck it would fall from the sky!
Through my window could come a burgler. He might be my gruesome murderer!
Could it get any worse? Should I be run over by my very own hearse!
A thousand ways I could surely die. I could jump off the highest of bridge's tonight!
A might die a slow death from cancer. This I choose not to be the answer!
I could die at the point of the barrel of a gun. An astroid could collide with the sun.
I may take a bottle of poisonous pills. But I might get the chills.
I could catch some deathly strain of the flu. Coughing and hacking and turning blue.
Should I predict my future's doom... I could die by my sword in my own bedroom.
I may die in combat with a forest ranger. Or cross the path of a deranged strangler.
When the moment arrives for my untimely demise. I shall die naturally in my lovers arms as I rest in peace.
