A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

telephones

A Poem by debileah

T elephone calls seem to take up my day

E very day it's the same as my phone rings off the wall

L etting me know someone must be thinking of me

E specially the telemarketers and the telephone solicitors

P leading with me to listen to their ten minute dialogue

H anging up the receiver, made me quite the believer

O f letting them know that nobody is here by that name

N ow I like to talk on the telephone some of the time to people I know

E very now and then I like to talk to a friend, but a recorded message, hell

S o I get fed up when phone does ring, ring, ring...and I just hang it up
