No More!

No More!

No More!

A Poem by debileah

Abused
"

Should I stay a victim of what you call love?

Or be a survivor, run and break free!

Shall I put on make-up to hide my face?

To hide the bruises on my body, just in case...

someone should suspect.

This is not over yet!

Shall I let your clenched fists and your words demean me?

To the point where I cower and shake!

Shall I tremble at mere sound of your voice?

You seem so loving and nice the rest of the time.

Or, am I losing my mind?

You once said when you are hitting me,

you were hitting yourself!

You were hitting yourself?

There's a message here I may need to convey.

What more can one say?

The time has come to run or to die!

Today is the day I run with my life!

Today is the day, and I say "No more!"

Too many have cried!

Too many have lied!

Too many have died!

"No more!" said I.
