if by chance

If by chance... A Poem by debileah

if by chance i could write my life's story

i wonder sometimes if it would be worth reading

or if anyone would care to hear about it anyway

funny thing is i wouldn't even know where to begin

from the beginning, the middle, or toward the end

of my life

 

but i am a poet, not much of a story teller

not too good with fiction, or make believe

seems i've lost touch with my dreams

so here i am stuck in this harsh place

they call reality

 

writing doesn't seem to come easy to me

but there's a need so deep inside of me

something that drives me to keep going on

like i really have something to say

but i can't seem to find the right words

 

i find myself trudging through writer's block

so i write my way through it

guess that's how i made it through my life

i had to struggle to survive

and so far i am still here
