Elm Street and Park Avenue

This old house should have been torn down a long time ago.
Seems we're all stuck here now and I'm growing old.
It needs electric, plumbing and windows.
It get's so cold whenever the wind blows.
The roofs are sagging and leaking it's true.
It's so hard to live here and not feel so blue.
Even the memories aren't worth repair.
Seems we're all stuck here in all our despair.
Well, the taxes are cheap and no house payment to make.
We're on a fixed income for heaven's sake.
So why do we stay?
When heartache is the price that we pay.

I can relate. I had a old house that became more truble then worth. I can feel this poem. Well done.
