Poetry Lost at Sea

Poetry Lost at Sea

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

T he wave of a hand, and my words drowned in the sea of lost poetry.

H uman error at the helm has left this poet quite overwhelmed.

E verything lost like a ship wreck deep within the ocean's floor.

L osing everything!

O h how can this be?

S o upset and so distraught!

T he words of my soul have been drowned, never to be found again.

S o I sail on through even rougher waters, trying to recover.

E ven at this moment I am so devastated as I wade my way through...

A  sea of uncertainty.

O nward I sail through unsteady winds, in search of my destiny.

F urther on into undiscovered territories of my poetic mind.

M y loss was great and there was no escape!

Y ears of pouring out feelings and emotions sank deep within these oceans.

P oetic words that embraced me, are now erased, left without a trace.

O nward I sail, treading my way through unknown waters.

E nveloping the sunshine of another day, new words may come to me.

T rying to understand the hard lesson that I have learned.

R ealizing that I must go on and pick up the pieces that are left behind.

Y earning for the comfort of my poetic mind to recreate in time.

I liked this expression of what many are feeling since super tuesday WC style. My favourit line is "Human error at the helm" though that is not the most moving part of the poem which is in the overall image of you striving to cope on the open sea. But judging by the arcostic the talent is still there and in working order! Good luck with future efforts and I hope you can rescue as much as possible through googling.

ahhhh yes - I think we all felt rather adrift when the Great Delete hit - unsure where our writings were - unsure how to put writings and reviews back together - yep, adrift is the perfect word choice. What a way with an acrostic here - nicely done.

Ahh, The Crash of Spring of '08...how I remember it well. Nicely penned.

ahhh the big database dump! lol this was a great piece! well crafted! love the picture at the end also.

while i had backups this time of my writings, i can understand the loss as i've had it happen to me in the past, losing master tapes of my music, my words and art lost over time... but we can always overcome and continue to create! :D

Faerie Blessings!

I like the fact that this is raw, honest and tells a great story. Is this about how you threw away the writings of your youth? That's the sense I get from it. It uses great wording and images.

This was definitely a rewarding read. A different look at the classic acrostic poem. :) Great job comparing the losing of your poetry (writers' block? or maybe just a lack of inspiration?) to the ocean, and how it so easily carries everything away. Beautiful. :)

I love this, I too feel this uncertainty at times!

This is very good, yet again. I would suggest, however, that you do not use a space after the first letter. If they are all capped, the reader will pick up on the vertical message!
