Tribute to Robin

A Story by Deborah Leah Krempa

I really don't believe a time when an actor's death had so much affect on me, I was stunned by his suicide, I was sad, and heartbroken, he was a man that any one of us as an audience could truly connect with, With his death, the world has lost an incredible human being. Mental illness affects everyone from all walks in life, manic depression is a horrific devastating frame of mind, and is debilitating, you walk through your life on a threshold of insanity, You never know what to expect next, so you learn, if you are lucky what triggers you manic episodes, and what leads up to your times of overwhelming sadness, and you are at odds with your own self. You look into the mirror and you wonder who you really are, you see how far you have traveled as the face ages with time, and you fear the unknown. You are labeled bipolar or schizophrenic, or some other A-typical name for crazy! You are now one of a select few that society shuns, fears, and avoids, because they are afraid that if they accept you for who you are, they might catch some sort of disease from you, So it is with our fanatic, oppressors, those who choose not to see you, their eyes become blind, their ears deaf, and their minds shallow to the truth. You are the reflection of the entire human race, the good, the bad, and shall I say evil? No, it is more ugly than evil. it is human to make mistakes, it is vital for us to learn the lessons we are taught through our trying times, the triggers are in plain sight, but we choose not to see them, for fear others may reject us. We are the happy-go-lucky guy or gal at the party, We are the talented artist or actor, the comedian, the, genius.of one-in-a-million writers, poets, authors, scientists and philosophers, we are the rebellious spirit, we are the gentle, the kind heart and the invisible bystander in a crowded room. We are the sadness, the heartache and the devastation, of a world gone mad with insanity and we are called the insane., May God keep you in his grace Sir Robin Williams, until one day we meet beyond the stars, beyond time and space, imagination, fantasy and grace. RIP my fellow man.the one with the kind face, and the voice of "Good morning, Vietnam!  Hat's off to you; and break a leg, as you continue to pursue that spiritual journey beyond heaven's door,

I too found it sad that a man that was so successful and so many admired could think his life was nothing so he took it. We all are asking ourselves, 'WHY?" Valentine
