The Inner Child

The Inner Child

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Her inner child, she seeks to find
Lost within the confines, a manic mind
Rage burning deep within her very soul
As thoughts race far beyond control

Her inner child needing to create
A world beyond fear and hate
She is locked behind steel bars
No one sees the invisible scars

On the outside of the inner child
Woe is she that is not tame, but wild
Antic's of illusions so grandiose
Suicidal tendencies, death so close

Lost in oblivion, weeping to be set free
From the tangled web, this one did weave
Old skeletons left in drafty closets amid dust
In need of an advocate and there is no one left to trust
