THE FOREST HOWLS

THE FOREST HOWLS

A Poem by debbiejane
"

Howl definition, to utter a loud, prolonged, mournful cry, as that of a dog or wolf.

"
THE FOREST HOWL
Once in a peaceful cascade
all sleeping soundly in their shade
there came a rumbling sound
as loud as a furious thunder
that shakes the hut and its foundation
Thus waking the sleepy heads

Father's sat up startled
mother's were trembling
and the children cries met
in contrast to the sound
which rumbled the more

Where comet the the sound?
no one knows
Has the monsters woken?
no father knows
Is the world ending ?
no mother knows.

The sucking babies stuck
to their mother's breast
to enjoy their last meal
thus whistling comet the sound
and rushes away to the forest
like a kid late for supper.

Interesting poem. I like the flow of the theme. It really was a good description on how the sound made the people react.
