Weeping Willow

Weeping Willow

A Poem by Lil Miss Poe

I slowing walk through the forest

Grass entangling my feet with every step I take

A small pack is on my back filled with my tablet and a amp

I brace myself for what’s coming even thru I saw it multiple times before

I slowly walk toward my grandmothers tombstone a deep breathe with every step

A weeping willow gracefully hangs over it

A stray dog peaks his head out of the bushes near by

I freeze in my steps startled by the dogs sudden appearance

I approach cautiously lay my pack by the willow I sit down my back resting on the solid trunk

I slowly get out my writing tablet and rests it on my legs as the words continuously flow outta my heart and directly on to the paper

The dog walks over slowly and sniffs my left hand and sits down beside me deeming me friend not foe

I open my pack and pick up the amp opens it then I drink some of the refreshing beverage

The dog nudges my hand with its cold, wet nose yearning to be petted

I pet it without realizing it taking in its earthly smell

The wind starts to pick up in my little paradise
