Paradise

Paradise

A Poem by Ree

Whispering doubts into my neck

Secrets twirling off your tongue like the dress I wore last night

Eyes open wide, biting my lip until it bleeds

Using the red to paint my mouth

I want to look alive for you

Ripped up magazines all over the bed

Searching for that special somewhere we can escape to

There is nowhere to go in paradise

Well, look around

Do you feel safe here with me?

The wallpaper disgusts me

There was a time we could look at each other in the eyes without realizing

We murdered everything else

I am lost
