don't look back on yesterday,
yesterday's buried and gone.
don't look forward to tomorrow,
you threw that away.
and the more i think about it,
the more i realize how bad
you fucked things up.
one lie,
i say it's alright.
two lies,
i say it's alright.
three lies,
i say it's alright.
keep them coming,
one after another.
lie through your teeth.
deceive till your dying day.
break promises like habits.
after all, there is no tomorrow.
but hey, no worries.
you lose nothing.
i lose everything.
keep it up, winner.
push out the old to make way for the new.
screw the old.
what good did it ever do you?
certainly didn't stand by you
or listen all those late lonely nights.
the old didn't make you
who you are today.
so toss it out.
make way for the bigger, the better.
whatever makes you f*****g happy.
you deserve it.
Sounds like someone is being a good friend here and the other one is NOT! Very perceptive of me to pick up on that, right? I feel the anger here. Sometimes it's good to let the person go on their own for a little while so they have time to think about all you've done for them. If it is only a one sided relationship, you can end up getting frustrated--and writing a poem like this! That's the good thing here: you have an awesome, imaginative poem. I like your writing style very much. (I didn't care about the f-bomb) Happy New Year!
The first two lines are great! I do agree with tristanmoorhen though, especially when it comes to the part about dropping the f-bomb. Great job though. Keep it up! Oh and please stop by and check out some of my stuff as well. Thank you. Peace, love, and sobriety!
okay, whatever anyone may say, i dig stuff written in the moment. but as a writer, you may look back and say, "why did i write that? what in the world was i thinking?"
looking back, it may be better than you thought or not as good as you remember. but whichever the case, it's a time-capsule, a frozen moment in your life, preserved. to be thawed, reheated, or microwaved later.
oh, and when you drop the f-bomb, you should probaly rate it mature. i don't think it's a rule, more like a courtesy. so welcome to the madhouse. check out some of my stuff, let me know what you think.
faith, hope and love, tristan
