readymade ragtime

readymade ragtime

A Poem by deathcabxcutiex
"

roaring twenties

"

Sweet summertime sweat
Light blue eyes speak easy
Smell of whiskey and magnolias
Don't get round much anymore
Dirty nails on sunburned hands
Original rags and hot jazz
Sing to me your troubles
Drink them away
Hard times in blue notes
Southern trees bear strange fruit

Red-light district is vaux de ville

Scat or Da Da the Babbitt

Knock twice and speak code
Flapping fabric will greet you

i like this a lot. you really put me there. "smell of whiskey and magnolias." sweet summertime sweet. you painted this picture well. i also like the line "dirty nails and sunburned hands." good stuff.

ohhh... yeah, I should mess around with the appearance, was focusing on the content more, trying to keep it fast paced, but that's an interesting suggestion... good looking out.

very cool...lots of jazz to sink into.

I don't know about giving it to us all at once though, jazz likes its pauses, those cool little shifts. maybe.

I like this anway, dig the subject.
