what is it good for?

what is it good for?

A Poem by deathcabxcutiex
"

self-explanatory

"

You speak of love and
    scream of love--
Must I remind you,
  Nothing's fair in love
    and war,
       so please,
          let's make some rules.

One,
   forget your musket and
      your gas,
drop your weapons at the gate
Two,
   forget the law of acquisition-
       I keep my heart protected
           with a combination lock
Three,
   keep in mind
situational ethics is what we're dealing with
          now.

I can't help to think,
If love is all we're made of then what am I afraid of?

Love is lonely and love is cruel
Ultimately,
Love is only for a fool, for a fool

     (I don't mind)

hahahaha took you what, 3 minutes to dissect that-- and if it makes you feel any better, the song's stuck in my head, too...

PS- I'm not a Trekkie, but yes, that is from DS9 lol

forget the law of acquisition-
-reminds me of star trek: DS9

'fair in love and war'- heard that one before...

interestingly positioned on the page, and I like what you did with the ending...a sort of intelligent rhyme, using it to discard it. i like that.

because of your title all I could really hear when I was reading it was that song...War. what is it good for? nothing really matters....and it's still going, damn you!
