A Chapter by Jay S

To think that Anya had killed anyone, none the less multitudes of cops, and 3 people,  was too much to bear. If you knew her like I did you would know that she could never harm even the smallest of insects. She saved every bug from the path of newspapers and always cared for those who were injured.

School was hard for me when I knew she had been presumed dead. I was shocked at the nerve Lilith had to have a happy look. To smile was absurd, how could she have been smiling when she knew two of the only friends she had ever had were murderers that were most likely dead now. Lilith walked in with a smile every day. She joked and played like she had just been given a million dollars. She had the smile of a woman who knew.

That day at school she walked in like every other. With a smile and a laugh. I couldn’t stand her happiness anymore I couldn't bear another day of that smile, that laugh. It taunted me and it boiled my blood. I lost it and screeched, “How could you be smiling! How could you! Your sick! You know they could be dead right! You smile even though they might be dead!”

“O-oh, I just, I just have hope that’s all,” She stuttered, I could see the tears welling up in her eyes.

“Hope isn't enough! Hope won’t bring them back!” I said as I crumpled to the floor, broken. The tears started falling like rain after that. The tears poured down my cheeks as I screeched like a banshee. I couldn’t hold back the tears I needed to shed. Everybody stared blankly at me. I could hear them whisper about me, and even worse, about Flynn and Anya.

They insulted everything I had. Those two were all I ever had, and all I had lost. I had nothing.

“Shut up! Shut up, shut up! please! why, why, why!” I screeched. I could stand the whispers about me, but I would not stand to hear a word about either Anya or Flynn.

Eventually, a teacher had to escort me from the room. They took me into the counselor's office. I sat there in misery for hours. The tears wouldn’t stop. They couldn’t stop. I screamed and pounded until my lungs didn’t work. I cried until my eyes dried and could no longer hold any more tears.

After that came the cutting, the bleeding, the steel against my skin. Tears fell as I slid the sharp steel across my once soft skin, and my once pale complexion turned dark red. I Saw the thick warm blood run down my arm and drip onto the floor. Before I knew it there was a pool of dark blood on the floor, and my arms were no longer soft and pale, but bumpy and red. Sliced and broken. There soon became a synchronization of my tears and blood dripping onto the floor.
