There is never forever

 

 

It’s all began with the question,

“Why do people make promises if they don't know how to keep it?”

 

You said forever...

Forever... that you will always love me.

And only me.

 

At the fireworks display, you said,

 “Just promise me that you will never leave me or cheat on me...”

I kept my promise. And it is still is...

But there was always a doubt in you.

Isn’t loving you forever be enough?

I’m sorry, I can’t make you happy.

I know that I’m no good.

And I was always am...

 

On February 14^th we had a fight.

It was my birthday, but you forgot everything about it.

I pushed you away since then...

But I know I shouldn’t have.

 

The next day you went away,

To a place, where I could not go...

Why did you leave so far away?

Why did you leave right after my birthday?

Was this really your gift for me?

Did forever changed?

 

Every night I’m left wondering,

Is love still the same for you?

If only there was a time machine,

I would turn back the time...

And pass the words that I haven’t got a chance to say it out loud,

“I love you,” I would say. “And will always do.”

 

If only forever was real...

sorry of it doesnt make any sense, or doesnt really flow. but this is my first time making a poem.. kind of, i guess.. but i really need help on editing this part!! i want to make this NOT so obvious for the reader.. well that's what poem is right?

I liked the last line

"If only forever was real....."

It finished the poem of nicely, it was cute and I think overall it flowed nicely. Good read, thanks for sharing!
