The Dark TwoA Poem by Anthony Q Armstrong
Lying down in bed one late night,
I hear animals continuing their dreadful fight. Blood flows from one's throat, my boat will float. Hair from the other, soft enough for slumber. The growls emerge from the pit of hell. The smell of putrid flesh, I reminisce in a time when the smell was fresh. They lunge, working like a machine, Ripping the girl apart. The screaming wakes many nearby enemies; Wolves and bears slinking out of the forest. The men, pause in the lushness of the kill, Just to notice the new animals that have brought themselves into view. Both of them on the same side, Ripping the heads off all of the annoyances, they watch them die. When the battle is finally over, neither man is harmed. They eat the still beating hearts, and burn the bodies. Their eyes burn red, with a demonic flicker. Enjoying pain, because for them it was pure gain. During the day they are seemingly perfect, But at night, their true perfection shows. Dark and demented, their minds are now manipulated. To see the elation they now entitle themselves to. Mundane society showed them how to survive, Fighting each other they love to do, But killing together they pleadingly do.
