One Last Adventure

One Last Adventure

A Poem by David Theaker
"

The end, drawing even closer.

"

There is a ship which takes one passenger,

One ship with you no captain or crew.

This ship only sails with a purpose of taking you.

I know it's destination, but not the course

And neither does the vessel.

It sails to the gates which house angels.

But on this voyage, I do not live wth the angels,

I make my dwelling elsewhere, without gates or bars,

I sleep with legends in the stars.

I dance with the fireflies,

And I run with the wind.

I'll never feel better being alone again.

Until I set sail, I sit on a beach.

Patient and longing for my wife

I wait for the adverture, after life.
