The Masked Man

The Masked Man

A Poem by David Theaker
"

The emotions we hide from the world. Hiding who we really are.

"

The masked man peeks

Through the slits, only to be depressed

By the sight. Happiness.

And it is this happiness

Which he shall never attain.

The masked man has cracks,

Through such cracks, reality sees

His emotion, tears, and pain.

And they culminate to leave the masked man

Alone in this world.

The masked man sleeps.

In his slumber, there are no dreams,

There is only darkness,

And it is this darkness that shall plauge him.

For Life never promised him a happy ending.
