As The Rain Falls

As The Rain Falls

A Poem by David Theaker
"

The longing we all have to be with someone.

"

As the rain falls,

I sit alone thinking of you.

As you’ve stolen my heart upon first sight

And captured all my life’s’ delight.

As my heart flutters,

I dream at night and day of you.

Feeling, kissing, loving all,

My heart, my life in freefall.

As the tears trickle

I envy the man that won your heart.

For reality kept us away,

Even so, our love never decay.

As my body ages,

I require your words.

To sooth my way to the next life,

For none better than my wife.

As the rain falls,

I sit alone dying for you.

Wishing to kiss your lips one day.

Wanting to be your man every day.

I don't remember reading this one, although I'm sure I have. I think it may be my favorite outside of the ones you wrote for me.

It's on Facebook, just like the rest. I wrote it at CU.
