One More Angel

dedicated to my friend Joanie and her family as they grieve the loss of her sister taken too soon. My thoughts and prayers go out to them.

 

One more angel

Deserving of flight

Has completed her grace

To earn her wings.

Least we not forget

That heaven’s gain

Doesn’t ease the pain

On earth

That will be felt eternally.

There is no comfort in death;

Only acceptance

Of the inevitable.

Pushing on after the loss

Of a loved one

Is like rolling a boulder uphill.

Thought you may never

Reach the top

Let the pain of trying

Be the unconditional tribute

To a life always alive

In your heart.
