Out Of Tune, Not Time

Out Of Tune, Not Time

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

My body numbs

as a counteraction

to the tingling sensation

that plays my spine

like an out of tune fiddle.

Refusing to dance

to music composed

by what can not be seen.

Hell may be the capital

I was born in

but the devil is not

my President.

Let his fire burn

all around me,

I will use it as

my guiding light.

At the end of the journey

I may be nothing but ashes

but at least I will be lighter

than the stones thrown at me.

Such rhythm, such power, such a directed point. I almost feel like this was thrown at me in a burst and now I'm a little dumbfounded haha.
"At the end of the journey
I may be nothing but ashes
but at least I will be lighter
than the stones thrown at me."
I rather liked this part the best. So unique!

"I may be nothing but ashes
but at least I will be lighter
than the stones thrown at me."
Life can lead us in many directions. A wise person know where they are heading. I like the wisdom and the very nice ending to the outstanding poem.

The imagery that you have depicted is powerful.. Although the body may be out of tune, the mind is still Strong~

"Hell may be the capital
I was born in
but the devil is not
my President.
Let his fire burn
all around me,
I will use it as
my guiding light.~ Great write!

I agree with Palewriter, these are classic lines. "Hell may be the capital" you have chosen your words well and used them very effectively to get the point across, excellent writing!

If those aren't classic lines I don't know what is. You certainly are the rebel with a cause and one damn fine poet. Period.
