Nothing as beautiful as a Eagle in open terrain. We have areas in upper Michigan for the Eagles. The Eagles are very large and man can't go within three miles of them. I enjoyed this poem. Freedom is based on a bird who need a open area and no-one to hunt and kill. Sound almost like us humans need to be? A outstanding poem.

Reminds a person of the Hollies hit ' All I need is the air that I breathe.' Its strange that in our cultures, we learn the song first before we realize the simple truths in its lyrics. Great write!
This piece lifts my spirit. The imagery you have depicted is breathtaking!
I love how you have enlightened the reader of the wind's magical touch ...giving life to the wind itself... This is a Magnifient write!
"Giving flight to those
brave enough
to spread their wings."~ Very inspiring!
Ah, just the right amount of background and the purposes and opportunities for the wind. You give it life and purity, a washing away of the evils and trifles of the world in a nature-like way, and also a backdrop and foundation for those who wish to spread their wings. Then, the shift is very thought-provoking (of course) and I love it!
"I only wish/you were the wind/then I wouldn't have to/ hold my breath/ when I breathe." Here you combine it all with a dash of a rather negative side of things to contradict the mostly positives previous.
Wonderful! I find I visit your page more and more often because your writing is so refined these days :) Also, many of my (and I'm sure, your) old writer friends have moved on (sigh).
Fantastic!
Dale, I bow for you. This is such a rich thought. Very spiritual, as the picture says it all too, if we speak about symbolism, and spirituality. You have the sharp eyes from above. Wonderfully brought, and structured.
