In The Name Of Truth, Justice And Enlightenment

In The Name Of Truth, Justice And Enlightenment

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

I have been reading Dean Koontz "Frankenstein" series and am under the influence.

"

Brought to life

At the hands of an ego

And instruments,

It was lightening

That gave me soul

That helps me fight for right.

With the elements as my religion

I have all the inner faith

I need

To fight this false god.

He who made me

Is just my maker,

Not my father.

Damnation will come to he

Who speaks with silver tongue

To praise his own alter;

Resurrected will be the flock

Designed for his false prophecy.

Let my penance be a life in hell

If it will keep hell on earth

From being fulfilled.

I can see Frankenstein writing this poem. Especially in the lines, "He who made me Is just my maker,
Not my father.
A bit angry and a bit humanistic. Funny to feel humanistic when inspired by something not human.
Escaping Hell is escaping Hell I think. I fear those who chose to live one now condemn themselves to live it over again... maybe...
You have me thinking.
Strong mind here Rebel!

A powerful write from an enlightened soul, one who follows his own religion, and will not bow to the diktats of an egoistic and selfish God. A humanitarian to the core...

A very powerful write Dale, this writing speaks of individuality and deep insight. A delight to read!

Experience precedes essence, does it not?

Your poem really shouts the fact that what was done was not made in His own image! When Man attempts to make 'a man', 'it' will contain the weaknesses that precede him, because humans are what they are, flawed. And Hell will go on and on because wrong is more fun, more exciting, more adventurous than goodness. The only way to fight evil is to look inward where that hell resides and fight it - i think that's what you're saying in your fine, fine poem. If I'm wrong, apologies.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is one of my all time favourite books..you really captured the truth story behind the myth of this tragic story..beautiful, sad and haunting..

This is hatebreed with a mixture of black flag. There could be traces of God here, or priests, or s**t even actual fathers. Its that hard throated yelling in a CBGB night over the car beeps in the lower east side.
Well done sir

This is a powerful write and message.. We seem to sacrifice ourselves for the better so often.. trying hard to keep the hell that could exist on earth from being fulfilled..x excellent write..xo

When I read the original Frankenstein I wasn't expecting him to talk like a thespian. I was expecting more ahhhhh. Your character has similar qualities but more determination and a damn good cause. Great writing.
