Tunnel Vision

Tunnel Vision

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Beyond the golden archway

The passages are stonewalls

Lined with moss;

The only sign of life.

Each steps sinks

Into the soft dirt,

Drying instantly to leave

A lasting impression

Of my existence.

Turning back creates double vision;

Neither of them familiar.

No light can be seen

At the end of the tunnel

Still I am blinded by the fact

It is what gives me my vision

To find my way.

The cobwebs get thicker

The deeper I go

Yet weaker in resistance.

The end comes swiftly

Though a long time in the making.

So I dig my own hole

So the ceiling can cave in.

This was very intense, love the whole poem, but the ending gives it the right punch!

I love the last two lines. It speaks to the depth of my soul greatly. Life is a series of choices and we may never see the outcome until it is too late.

the solitary stroll of inverted life takes on a haunting aura in the fluidity of your ink swirled in rich imagery~

Finding solitude in the present. You can't turn back time...so if you can't move forward...it's best to dig a hole and bury yourself for awhile. Preserve the moment like a time capsule...waiting..just waiting for the right moment.

We need to see to believe. But we also need to believe in order to see that which is not so obvious. This piece gives the reader a lot to think about. Great write.

I like your version of tunnel vision...sometimes we have to go down that tunnel even knowing the ceiling may collapse on us, but then again, maybe it is better to see the world with fully opened eyes.

So raw with emotion. The last two lines are what I feel like doing on days like these.

You have written this with sheer bravery in the soul and heart...to go where the spirit goes and face forward....the last two lines in this piece made me shudder! Brilliantly though out love, upwards and onwards so they say! lol

Sometime we have no option. Led by will and one way roads. Tunnel vision can blind us or lead us to a open path. The second is always better. I like the way you expressed the journey. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.
