Scared To DeathA Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Just some Halloween fun Bump,
bump, bump goes the night Thump,
thump, thump goes your heart. The
feeling of eyes in the shadows Weighs
heavy on your mind. Every
step you take Sends a
chill down your spine. A
glance over the left shoulder Followed
by the right Produces
nothing but paranoia. Is
that wicked laughter in your head Or a
trick of the moon’s subliminal command. Your
heals click quicker, Crunching
leaves gets louder, Breathing
almost impossible As
if invisible hands grasp your throat. Stumbling,
you fall Ripping
your pantyhose, All you
care about is getting home. Drawing
closer Voices
getting louder While
multiplying. Now
certain the beating you hear Is your
heart coming out your ears. Finally
the light is ahead, You run
without looking back… Grasping
the knob, The feel
of a hand on your shoulder. Screaming
as you turn to see A blurred
vision of the reaper greeting you. Awaken
to see the faces of Witches,
goblins, mummies and vampires Observing
you along with… Alice
In Wonderland and a smurf? Dang
you forgot tonight was The big
Halloween party. You
laugh in the face of death… of your pride. © 2011 The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Reviews
