The World Where I Exist

The World Where I Exist

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

To explain would be futile and unnecessary.

"

In the world where I exist

leaning towers are a hip expression

of today’s social values.

Abandoned buildings are power plants

keeping everyone’s dreams alive.

In the world where I exist

clouds never cry, just fade away

like fifteen minutes of fame.

The sun only shines with written consent

from Greenpeace and the E.P.A.

In the world where I exist

nights can only end

with the rolling of the credits.

Politicians only live

in the fantasies of the rich.

In the world where I exist

I am just a figment of God’s imagination

and for that I give thanks.

A true statement of the times we live in today. Not so great, could be worse I guess, but I long for the simpler, happier days, the yesterdays

There is the world that exists and the world we exist in... distinct and relevant only to us... You've moved into a place and seen fragments we may never understand, but your emotional music plays on for us all.

clouds never cry, just fade away

^ interesting line - for when I witness the clouds crying with rain; they are soaking their eyes to release their pressures as their tensions fade :)

Thank goodness for people like you that are in tune with the cycles of mother nature to protect us along the way.

Gotta love the EPA, trying to improve our quality of life. Bravo I want to say for a job terribly done.....but we can't let it strip away our humanity.

Returned to review anew: seems you believe or are maybe saying that we're lost to outside influences and general indifference, that the love of what's real and natural doesn't matter any more, that the spiritual has lost to what's considered the norm but, in fact, has little or no value. Sorry, muddling through my own thoughts on this poem. Your writing never ceases to fire my interest, whatever its genre or content.
