Too Cool(TooCold)

Too Cool(TooCold)

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Being hearing James Dean by the Eagles a lot lately.

"

Standing there the epitome of cool,

like a James Dean Ice sculptor.

Not a hair out of place

but the time lines on his face

tell a different story.

Once he owned these streets

now he can’t rent a corner.

Not smiling in his youth

was part of the tough image,

but in these weaker years

there is nothing to make him happy.

The loner attitude was the match,

careless emotions the gasoline

that burned the bridges

to friends, family and love.

When you rebel without a cause

it eventually causes a rebel of one.

very clever word winds around here~ and a very wise observation indeed~Jimmy Dean was way before my time~ but his legend tweaks curiosity across generational lines~ he died young so young~ wondering if he would have passed a lonely rebel if he'd lived~

This reminds me of Bob Dylan. He has become a recluse in his later years. Rarely being seen but once the clubs and bars would have been packed to the masses to hear him sing. Now he hides from the world, trapped behind closed doors. Great write you have here my friend.

You pose some great questions. I suppose that's why he died when he did. Look at Charlie Sheen and how he has isolated himself...

Love the reference to James Dean. Interesting point to make about a rebel eventually standing alone. I suppose some prefer it that way when they rebel. Especially love the lines "The loner attitude was the match, careless emotions the gasoline." Very evocative! When we stand for a cause, how far do we take it? To the point of seemingly no return? Excellent!

Wow, so lyrical! Definitely resembles their work. This has a really cool feel to it, and I especially like the last 5 lines. They really are true and I like the way it is said. Gooood write!!

September 30 is the anniversary of his death. Cool, smooth writing, Cowboy.
I'm sure Mr. Dean would be proud. :)
