Invisible Reaper(Expanded)

Invisible Reaper(Expanded)

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

I wrote a piece for a contest about death in ten words or less. This is the expanded version of it.

"

Don’t fear the fog

It is just nature’s blanket.

Don’t fear religion

It is just man’s word against God’s.

Death is unpredictable,

Death is inevitable.

Just live life to the fullest

For you’ll never hear his footsteps’

You’ll never see the sickle swinging…

When it does the effect is permanent.

Thank you very much... it might just be the fog in my mind.
At the rise of day and noontime sun
When evening be and mid-night come
Down deep in a sea soaring high in a sky
Slashing and gleaning with sickle beware
The Grim Reaper shall appear .. ..

In the gaiety of youth and aging rattle
At that new life cry and amidst every battle
With many a company and alone in despair
Slashing and gleaning with sickle beware
That Grim Reaper shall appear ..

We all have a dark side... it is how we use that defines our character.

True Dat !
Good poem with an understandable message. But the words "Don't fear religion/It is just man's word against God's" make a poem by themselves. I wish I'd thought of it.

Hmmmm, that could work, or get a pair of glasses with mirrors on them.
Excellent ending and poem in general.
