And we shall shout the truth to the tree tops and beyond.
Very (excuse the pun) politically correct and right on the money.
If we swallowed everything that the mainstream and media trys to shove down our throats, we'd need Tums for the rest of our lives, choking on the reality of what really is, or is not. We are being served an oxymoron diet of government intelligence in Pablum form.
"The statue of liberty
Becomes the United State’s
Kryptonite
And the White House
A nail in its coffin."
Unfortunately this is all completely true. I don't trust this government at all anymore and I don't see things getting any better in the near future. Great poem poetically told.
Fav. line by far: "Like the money spent, On borrowed time."
"Liberty is the
Candle in the wind;" Seem like you are comparing freedom to a flame that could go out at anytime. I see "liberty" as voluntary jail time... in which case the candle comparison fits perfectly.
cause and effect I definitely see that in this piece.
What a fantastic write, not a mere poem or piece of free verse, this is a shout in that darkness when the candle in the wind goes out. You always write finely often delicately, but now and again you have a shout and boy, do you shout. This is a mighty piece of ranting done in great style.
And you think it stops on your shores, Dale .. nope! Liberty doesn't really exist any more, it's a mere word in a dictionary; and, saying that, if you read down and down to where the meaning is brought up to date you'll see, 'was once every man's right but desire for it is now considered anarchic by rulers and like, thus diluted by those in wilful ascendance'
It's better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool
