Out there is altering .. form is deforming .. life on earth, around earth is changing .. and maybe, though not said in your poem, we should be afraid.
Not sure if that's what you're saying with this powerful poem, but it's how i understand it .. if wrong, apologies.
Some of us would only like to hear what they wanna hear, would only like to see what they wanna see, would like to read what they wanna know. And for the worse, some of us would rather not speak at all. Freedom has since become a distant dream. This is genius. I liked this.
A good poem that provides a different perspective on how we see our home, the blue marble. I recently saw the first season of Through The Worm Hole narrated by Morgan Freeman, and that should be required viewing for everyone. If more people understood just how big how remarkable our universe is, and how unique our mother ship is, maybe we'd take it a little easier on each other. Thanks for reposting this Dale, and giving those who haven't read this an opportunity to do so.
I definitely didn't read this as meaning the apocalypse, but more how the mundane things surrounding us have a tendency of suffocating us, stealing our dreams. Great turn of phrases: "Gravity kills
the astronaut’s soul" and
"Oxygen no longer an element
but rather a chemical."
This sounds like to me Global Warming believers trying to scare people into believing that man made global warming is going to kill the planet sometime in the far away future to get their agenda of control and wealth distribution pushed into becoming law now. I really like the poem even if its no where near being about that. It really is a good poem!
It's better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool
