The Ocean Sings My Peace

The Ocean Sings My Peace

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Sounds of the ocean’s movement

Become the acoustic guitar

In my head

While I build a castle

Upon the shoreline

Just so time can

Wash it away

Like tears falling on wet ink.

Smudged lyrics are as useful

As a seagull eating from my hand.

Listening to the only

Seashell upon this shore

Brings only thoughts

Of a lonely wind blowing

A tumbleweed through

A ghost town I’ve never been.

Each footprint I leave

In the sand

Is a memory distorted

By dreams of strangers.

Retreating to the water

Is a baptism for me

As I breathe in the pain,

Exhale my fears

And a wait nightfall

So the moon can sing my requiem

In the form of a wave

That brings me closer to nature.

It is really cool to read a writer over time and whitness their style and poetry change and grow molding into art and creation. As I read your work I see so much growth in your work, your pen is so sensual now and so refined and your work is very polished to the point of being artistic and beautiful. Yes I loved this poem it is inspirational. Great write.

Beautifully formatted, beautifully expressed though sad and sadder than this reader would like you to be. She hopes the moon will bring you that wave and take you closer to nature ..

Isn't the sea and the shore extraordinary, it has such a magic but variable way with people's thoughts and emotions, all the highs and lows, such extremes ..

'Like tears falling on wet ink. ~ Smudged lyrics are as useful ~ As a seagull eating from my hand' ,, what a picture you've created there.

Beautiful, I felt so many things reading this...I felt a loneliness in these words and I wanted to join you there walking along the shore, not speaking but only listening.

Very beautiful images describing a very deep pain. Maybe a final ending is the peace in the poem's title. At least, I see a lot of pain in this. Another very excellent write.

Soft rhythm strums from moving tides
tumbling over dusty paths yet to cross
so nice to read and then to say
I gladly tip my hat your way,
happy trails and lunar tunes to ya,
Rossen

I really like how you used both the imagery of the ocean and the underlying meaning here towards the end. My favorite line: Smudged lyrics are as useful
As a seagull eating from my hand.

While reading this, I could swear I could hear the ocean ringing in my ear.. And I've only been by the ocean once. I do have a love for bodies of water- where I like, Lake Erie :)

Very well done and written

Overwhelming depth and beauty here. One thing i miss the most about California is going to the ocean.. and your words sang its song that has the waves' rhythm on the shore and in the mind.

Such an intricate weave of beautifully elaborated visions.
I felt as if I were walking on a beach under the moonlite, listening to the harmony of the oceans waves, as I was reading. I simply....LOVE IT
