A Sacred Haunting

A Sacred Haunting

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

She calls my name with sincerity,

My feet are blocks of solid fear.

She cries out my name with hope,

My arms are heavy with doubt.

She screams my name with desperation,

My reflection is tinted by lies.

She is the ghost

That haunts my grave.

Wow. So few words yet so many images and thoughts. Regrets of what could've or should've been given, or perhaps what someone needed that you just couldn't offer. Maybe even the "ghost" was the one that was unreasonably expectiong too much or being unrealistic making the other person feel guilty eventhough they weren't. Very unsettling feeling with this. Excellent piece!

This is awesome. She sounds like one hell of a ghost. You managed to put strong images into so few words. Kudos!

oh I could step in your poem and feel my own longing to unite despite fear and the times where I reached out to another who feared....

This seems to move so deeply into the psyche... painfully voiced in a desparate distance from love and life.. Stunning imagery.

It's a sway of two beliefs never meeting. Very atmospheric, cowboy. I think you're liking this darker tone.

You play the contrasting thoughts against each other in a very productive manner. I really enjoy the flow of this poem and the story it weaves.
