I really liked this piece. Speeding through life is always a rush but there's also the risk of disaster and burn out whether you're driving or just running on sheer motivation. Another great write!
Laughing at the 'way to go' thought that ripped through my mind as I read this .. speed freaks pain me - i anticipate the worst, for them, for the people around them, but do know that riding pillion is quite something! Having written that, but re-reading your words, they could apply to living in life's fast lane, not missing a moment of one's allotted time .. neither day nor night
I like the run of this .. it's man, it's life .. a dangerous deed set in daring words.
Well me having three teenage boys, it scares the beejeebies out of me however, I know the thrill too but mama tries to keep it under wraps though. hehe.
like the goddamn speed phoenix. this actually pushes the pulse and can be applied to anything..love, lust, speed, this is one of those pieces that follows one theme, a singular idea, but can easily push the branches...
A friend of mine once made me promise to let him be buried still sitting on his motorbike. I didn't really thing of the logistics when I agreed. :) Excellent speedy poem cowboy.
The title evoked such images of racing... across lanes and through life. Your poem didn't disappoint, speeding us across the fast lane... stirring all that is passion and purpose, and the rush of simply being alive to the fullest.
It's better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool
