I'll Call You Sybil

I'll Call You Sybil

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

I go to bed

You’re like a warm comfy blanket

I wake up

You turn to cold bitter coffee

From yesterdays pot.

Oh my I see your skin

Is a lovely angelic white.

Wait I blink my eyes

Suddenly there is a tan…

Wait how could that happen.

Gosh I really like your blonde hair

What was that a wig

Cause now you brunette.

I just don’t understand.

Then everyday

I have to call you by

A different name.

Hiding from the law

Or ashamed of your past.

For me I will make it simple

And just call you Sybil.

You say you want someone

To care about you

But honey how can anyone

Give a damn

When even you don’t recognize

The back of your hand.

Oh my woman

My head is spinning

As you slip on that white jacket

With those shining buckles

At least you should be

For let me give you a reality check

You’ve become Darwin’s grab bag.

Sybil has done it again - tried to play the Barbie part for love perhaps maybe control - playing a fool by making him drool - painting illusions - impressions melt when intentions are shown thru actions - great write Dale!

Yes, living with someone mentally ill does leave on in a constant state of confusilum, past confusion and beyond despair. If you aren't careful, the illness will break you down. Sometimes, even though we love them, we must let them go to that world of locked doors, rooms with padded wallpaper and jackets with wrap around sleeves. Seems like you are familiar with the feeling.

A "grab bag..." Clever way of putting it. Folks like that are hard to deal with. You never know where you stand with them. Then again, sometimes people just don't consider what may be behind the masks, or get to really know someone before they decide they're phoney, (good, bad, indifferent... take your pick of adjectives). So many ways of "connecting" out there nowadays, but few people really know their "friends," especially those on a "friends list." Of course, someone like this that you know in the "real and physical" world is someone that can do a lot of messing around with too. ANYWAY... many cleverly worded sentiments here. Definitely a piece that conveys well a very strong feel of "enough BS!" Sorry for the analysis. A really entertaining piece.
