Mountainization

Mountainization

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Ever since I saw Country Strong this piece began to grow in my head. Now it is time for it to blossom.

"

I always had a firm grip on reality

Till I washed my hands in the golden sea,

Not realizing it was the suns reflection

Making it seem so pure.

My grasp was weakened

         Like watered down bourbon…

The fall broke my back

Cause a piece of straw

Isn’t enough cushion

For the psychological impact.

The crack in my back

         Wasn’t paralyzing

                  Just immobilizing enough

For me to use the earth’s resources

To make my way into a hole

Like a snake in the grass

Seeking protection.

Eventually time spent

Below the living

Made me respect the mountain

And why it connects me to heaven.

The climb was not easy with

Broken wings

But when I reached the top

I was destined to fly.

Wonderfully deep and thoughtful words, Dale. You go through pitfalls and sadness, then, strike out for the specials: hope, freedom, love .. a precious beautiful place - perhaps inside of you, in your heart and mind. I could be wrong but it's how I interpret your beautiful poem.

The last stanza is wonderful. this whole poem speaks of finding our dreams and higher power in life. For me that would be God.

Wow, I could feel the struggle and disappointment in life. The ending destination is believable. The point of change was reached. That is where one has to dig down deep inside themselves. Asking these questions, "What I believe life means and where I want to go with the rest of my life?" Great read!
