Foretold Flooding

Foretold Flooding

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Shadows of regret

Shine in the sun

But become larger than life

In the dark.

Rustling of the wind

Stirs secrets beneath

Fallen leaves

Till they drift into a drain

To create a disaster down

The road.

Then sound of thunder

Is the devil’s motivation,

Lightening executes

His brilliant plan,

Then comes the rain

To fulfill the prophecy.

Beautifully written and great images...and I love the title
I can relate to the theme of this as it has been raining, what seems endlessly, here for a while now - there has been flooding in areas and talk that there is more to come...
The last six lines stood out to me. A striking way of describing it all... Really well done here

Very dark and ominous, seeing nature unfolding into a biblical like disaster. Love the imagery and the sense of dark menace in this write. Perhaps its always too late to listen to warnings.
