once standing tall and proud, passions ignighted along a trickling stream of hot wax, only to climax into a pool of reflection,of what it used to be and has now become...these lines hit hardest to my ears...
Home is nothing more
Then a square white circle
Sectioned off and marked
As evidence.
Home is just a space in which we find ourselves .. just as childhood is. We get trapped in it, aware of weaknesses, of fear, of too much or of too little - we try to compensate and too often make matters worse?
'When childhood is a prison ~ You’ve escaped from ~ Adulthood becomes ~ Solitary confinement.'
Not sure if my interpretation of your wonderful poem is right .. but what's true, Dale, is that you've written an intensely powerful poem with many shadows and few lights which really hit home.
I'm going to have read The Heroin Diaries, if it inspired this poem, it must be fantastic. I love the whole poem, but particularly enjoyed these lines.
my goodness! wow! Trip out! this is such an amazing piece of work. I captures the true essence of what a tortured spirit living inside our human forms might be feeling.
I don't know what else to say except that this poem shall remain in my memory.
is both haunting and beautiful - I love the combinations of realms. I really enjoy work that doesn't always has a happy ending. Furthermore, Even though this peace is sad it allows one to understand what the opposite must be.
It's better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool
