Contradictions In Humanity

Contradictions In Humanity

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Within my subconscious

Are the faceless…

Vie for my attention

Then turning their backs

To the thoughts I have yet to speak.

On the tip of my tongue

Are the nameless…

Speaking of freedoms

Then telling me how to be

Before I have a chance to fail or succeed.

Just within my grasp

Are the fearless…

Lending me a hand

Then not allowing me to touch

Without the security of latex gloves.

These contradictions

Of the human condition

Make me weep

While leaving a sense of hope.

A very high feeling of life today for many.. while contradictions sting.. they do remind us of being human. Your abstract image really does flow well with the writing.. with an air of mystery as to the contradictions that you have felt in life. I loved the fact this ended on a hopeful note.. and I hope others out there find their living contradictions lead them on the same path. IF we loose anything in life.. let it not be hope or faith! Great work.. my reflections may not be true to what this is written about.. just what I took from it. Very humane feel to this one!

I love this peace. The flow, the rhythm, the word choice... the meaning.

People continue to question, and often the answer's arent there even when given....very deep thoughts, makes one question everything they know, and have been told....i'd call this poem one of enlightened awarness.....and yes...there is hope!!

There is such a sense of despair in this write.......as if you want to reach out and grasp humanity but are consistently thwarted in your efforts. Yes, humans leave so much to be desired......yet we need each other so desperately. Painful, yet hope always springs eternal. Excellent poem!

We are becoming less human with time. Soon we will be afraid to touch and hold each other. Poem is outstanding. We must not be afraid of kindness and human touch.

I think this questions the answers and the questions,as yet unasked,
or sings to the deaf,a song that fills their soul none the less,
and a light in the darkness, that even the blind could not ignore...
Nice work on this piece my friend and I await those unspoken thoughts,
to be spoken aloud on this,oh so silent of pages...LonelySoul

Philosophy of life, the silence that speaks so much.
Interesting thoughts and words ... that mean so much.
