Contradictions In Humanity

Contradictions In Humanity

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Within my subconscious

Are the faceless…

Vie for my attention

Then turning their backs

To the thoughts I have yet to speak.

On the tip of my tongue

Are the nameless…

Speaking of freedoms

Then telling me how to be

Before I have a chance to fail or succeed.

Just within my grasp

Are the fearless…

Lending me a hand

Then not allowing me to touch

Without the security of latex gloves.

These contradictions

Of the human condition

Make me weep

While leaving a sense of hope.

A very high feeling of life today for many.. while contradictions sting.. they do remind us of being human. Your abstract image really does flow well with the writing.. with an air of mystery as to the contradictions that you have felt in life. I loved the fact this ended on a hopeful note.. and I hope others out there find their living contradictions lead them on the same path. IF we loose anything in life.. let it not be hope or faith! Great work.. my reflections may not be true to what this is written about.. just what I took from it. Very humane feel to this one!

This reminded me so much of our government, but instead of "wanting to help" (like they said below), I feel like our government reaches for us only to make themselves look better- instead of actually aiding us... Most of the time at least, that's how I feel.

Very good point, glad to see my poem gave invoke different views.
I have to say cowboy..this may be some of your best work yet:

Just within my grasp

Are the fearless…

Lending me a hand

Then not allowing me to touch

Without the security of latex gloves.

It's oxymoron if you ask me, we offer a hand, then in secret we go wash ourselves.
We live in a world full of double standards...we want to help...but there's always precautions, why can't we just let our guard down and fully trust?

Thank you very much, that is certainly how life can be.
You speak words that that I can relate to in a powerful way. Just as Newton's third law speaks.

"To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction: or the forces of two bodies on each other are always equal and are directed in opposite directions.

For every negative we experience there must be an equal positive experience, as we choose. Inspiring as always my Friend! ~ :-)

I remember the time when I just graduated from school. It was harder to land on my first job because companies were expecting someone with experience. I thought I'd never get one. Catch 22!

wonderful analogy of the human condition ..insightful!....brutally honest..

Just within my grasp

Are the fearless…

Lending me a hand

Then not allowing me to touch

Without the security of latex gloves.

These contradictions

Of the human condition

Make me weep

While leaving a sense of hope.
