Signs

Signs

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Treetops begin to bow in anticipation

Of the crows coming to use them.

A wolf sings a lonely tune to the moon

Leaving the dark feeling so hollow.

Gusting winds shove nature around

In order to make things seem right.

The signs are there…

                  The devil is grinning

For no one is paying attention…

Soon he will make his move.

Great symbolic imagery, with the crow and the wolf, as foreshadowers of the coming doom. Personally, think crows and wolves are given a bad rap, in most mythology that one can read. Wish my "not much" have the punch and power that your's do. Thank you, for sharing this cautionary poem with us.

This gave me a chill. At first,it reminded me of how I feel when a storm is brewing in the spring. We have crows on campus and I actually love to watch them. In some odd way, I feel that they are misunderstood birds ... like me.

The end is what gave me the chill because sometimes the beginning of a storm also makes me feel spooked.

Rings very true. Quite an eerie and foreboding feeling. Perhaps it's time to start paying attention to what's going on around us. Very nice write! Makes an excellent point to ponder.

Sent a chill down my spine indeed. The sinister elements of the nights and the impending doom they are going to bring is so palpable. Thrilling and Chilling!!

Love the gusting winds shoving, Cowboy. There's lots of movement here and the sounds are hushed appropriately. I worry about your author's note though... I hope you develop this to a state where you'll shout it from the rooftops, proudly. :)

This makes me think of a scary movie about werewolves. I love this poem. Simple yet it paints a graphic picture in your mind.

I like this it is very much could be a beginning to a thriller. Very nicely written and the imagery is chilling.

Oh yikes... I have seen nights like these... those nights where for no reason the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Where you feel something moving in the night and you can't quite put your finger on it. Great job!
